Birulia Jamidar Bari
Dhaka, Bangladesh
Birulia Jamidar Bari is a residential building built during Colonial Period during the early 20th century. The Birulia Village has 10-11 residential and religious buildings of that specific time frame(50’s-60’s) owned by Jamidar Nalini Mohon Saha. Later, the documented building was bought by businessman Rajanikant Ghosh during the decline of zamindari at 8960 taka 4 aana. After that, Rajanikant Ghosh lost his assets inside Dhaka during the riot in 1964, leaving himself only the asset in Birulia.
The hundred year old Banyan tree in the premises holds a deep significance for the owners of Aadi Dhakeshwari Bastralaya, as they had started their business after praying to that tree. The village has mostly residential buildings with 2-3 Durga temples.
