Polghata Bridge
The glorious place of ancient Bengal, part of the Srivikrampur metropolis, the present Munshiganj district is a glorious region rich in history and tradition. Numerous ancient monuments bear witness to various glorious anecdotes scattered throughout the district. Among them, the Polghata Bridge is a unique antiquity of the Mughal period made of bricks and surki at Panam Polghata village in Rampal union of Munshiganj Sadar upazila. The bridge, built at a distance of 8 km from Munshiganj district town, maintains communication with Tongibari upazila and the district headquarters.

It is also known as Mirkadim Bridge to the locals as the boundary moat of Bikrampur metropolis is built on Mir Kadim canal. Under the 52.42 m long arched / semicircular Polghata bridge, 3 spaces have been set aside for navigation. The navigable path on both sides is relatively short compared to the space in the middle. The Polghata brick bridge is currently under the supervision of the Department of Archeology, Government of Bangladesh.

How to go:
The distance from the capital Dhaka to Munshiganj district is only 26 kilometers. Various transport buses are available to Gulistan Munshiganj in Dhaka. You can go to Polghata bridge by autorickshaw / CNG from Munshiganj district headquarters.
